About Secondary
Equipping Students for a Changing World
At MACC, our Secondary Program is purposefully designed to provide students in Years 7–12 with a rigorous and engaging academic foundation, while also preparing them to thrive in an increasingly complex and dynamic global environment. We are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals capable of achieving excellence both in their academic pursuits and in co-curricular endeavours.
Our students are encouraged to broaden their perspectives, take ownership of their learning journey, and contribute meaningfully to the well-being of their peers and broader community. The Secondary years offer a diverse array of leadership opportunities across academic, sporting, artistic, musical, service, and movement disciplines, empowering students to grow in confidence and character.
At MACC, we recognise that knowledge alone is no longer sufficient. We intentionally cultivate adaptability, creativity, resilience, and agility, equipping our students not just to navigate, but to lead in the rapidly changing world of work. Our goal is to empower each graduate to embrace change with confidence and to contribute meaningfully wherever their journey may take them.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Holistic Approach to Student Wellbeing & Pastoral Care
At MACC, student wellbeing is at the heart of our Secondary program. We are committed to nurturing the spiritual, emotional, social and academic growth of every young person through a holistic Christian approach to care, connection and belonging.
Each morning, students begin the day in their CARE Group; a smaller tutorial-sized community where they are personally known, encouraged and supported by a dedicated Christian teacher. CARE teachers walk alongside students each day and each term, building meaningful relationships that foster trust, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.
Our wellbeing structure is further strengthened through the leadership of Year Coordinators, who provide ongoing encouragement, guidance and support for each year group, and our Director of Wellbeing, who oversees a whole-school approach to student care and flourishing.
The College also partners with The Resilience Project, incorporating the principles of GEM — Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness — into the life of the College, during CARE group. Through explicit wellbeing initiatives, mentoring and everyday interactions, students are encouraged to develop resilience, positive relationships and healthy emotional habits.
Students are further supported through our dedicated Diverse Learning Team, who work collaboratively with students, families and teachers to ensure every learner is equipped to flourish. The team develops Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provides targeted support for students with additional learning needs, students who are twice exceptional, and students participating in our Ignite Extension Program.
Faith formation is also a central part of student life in Secondary. Our staff and Chaplain intentionally model and teach Christian values through fortnightly Chapel services, where students are encouraged to engage in worship, reflection and their own spiritual growth journey. Students are also invited to participate in TCC, ‘The Cross Carriers’; a student-led lunchtime Christian Bible Connect group overseen by our Chaplain, where students can freely explore faith, ask questions, build community and deepen their relationship with Christ.
In addition, students have access to counselling support and pastoral care through our College Counsellors and Chaplain, ensuring that every student is supported academically, emotionally and spiritually throughout their Secondary years.
Our desire is that every student feels known, valued and cared for as they grow into confident, compassionate and Christ-centred young adults.
Excellence in Academics – The Love of Learning
At MACC, we are committed to fostering academic excellence through high expectations, meaningful support and a culture that encourages every student to pursue their personal best. We believe each student has unique gifts and potential, and we seek to equip them with the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to thrive.
Our students learn within a safe, caring and Christ-centred community where wellbeing, belonging and personal growth are highly valued. By nurturing strong relationships and a genuine sense of connection, students are supported to flourish academically, emotionally and spiritually. We encourage students to discover and develop their strengths, grow in character and embrace opportunities that inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
As a College community, it is our privilege to guide and prepare students for life beyond school with hope, resilience, compassion and purpose. MACC is dedicated to creating an environment where students are challenged and supported to achieve their highest potential, while maintaining balance, wellbeing and a positive approach to learning.
We are committed to recognising and nurturing the unique strengths, interests and learning profiles of every student. Through a supportive and structured learning environment, students are provided with opportunities for choice, challenge and personalised pathways that encourage engagement, independence and a genuine sense of ownership over their learning. Our goal is to develop confident, adaptable and resilient young people who are equipped to flourish both within and beyond the classroom.
Working in partnership with classroom teachers, our Diverse Learning team supports the delivery of inclusive, research-informed teaching practices that respond to the varied learning needs of students. Through collaborative planning, targeted intervention and tailored adjustments, the team helps ensure students are well supported academically, socially and emotionally.
Support opportunities may include small-group and individual programs focused on literacy, writing and comprehension development, as well as extension opportunities such as the Ignite Extension Program, and Accelerated Mathematics classes. Students are also encouraged to pursue their academic passions through participation in a range of enrichment initiatives and competitions, including the Da Vinci Decathlon and ICAS.
At MACC, we value strong partnerships with students and their families, recognising that meaningful relationships are central to student growth and success. By working closely with each student’s support network, we can better understand individual learning needs, nurture wellbeing and encourage resilience, confidence and independence.
Our Christian teachers and leaders, including Directors, Heads of Faculty and Year Coordinators, are dedicated to creating positive and supportive learning environments where every student feels known, respected and encouraged. Passionate about both education and pastoral care, they intentionally build genuine relationships with students, understanding that trust and connection are essential for effective learning.
Our staff are also committed to professional excellence and lifelong learning. Many contribute to HSC marking, curriculum development and ongoing professional learning, ensuring their teaching practices remain current, informed and responsive to the needs of students. This commitment to continual growth enables our educators to deliver high-quality learning experiences while modelling curiosity, growth and lifelong learning.
Through this collaborative and relational approach, students are supported academically, personally and spiritually within a community that values care, connection and belonging. This culture of authentic support is a defining strength of the College and helps students develop the confidence, character and resilience to thrive both at school and beyond.
Our commitment to Excellence in Education is evident in the design of purposeful, contemporary learning environments that foster collaboration, adaptability and deep engagement.
Central to this is our planned STEAM Building, a specialist precinct designed to inspire creativity, collaboration and academic excellence. Students access dedicated Science laboratories for Biology, Chemistry and Physics, alongside the Da Vinci Studio and dedicated Visual Arts spaces. The building also includes contemporary Technology and Applied Studies facilities such as the Timber Workshops, Multimedia Room, Textiles space and high-specification IT facilities, supporting authentic, future-focused learning experiences.
This is complemented by our planned three-storey Secondary building, designed to enhance both academic and collaborative learning. It features a 150-seat lecture theatre, 24 modern classroom spaces, and a variety of breakout rooms that support flexible, student-centred learning and teamwork.
Across MACC, digital technologies are embedded into teaching and learning to strengthen creativity, connection and innovation. Students are also challenged to apply critical and creative thinking to real-world problems using industry-standard applications and emerging technologies. Opportunities such as 3D printing, together with rich experiences in creative arts and multimedia, enable students to build practical skills and innovative capability across disciplines.
In partnership with families, MACC is committed to developing students as responsible, ethical and discerning users of technology. Through explicit digital citizenship education and a strong emphasis on respectful communication, students are equipped to engage safely and confidently within and beyond the school community. This integrated approach prepares students to thrive in a dynamic, technology-rich and globally connected world.
Mount Annan Christian College’s Careers and Academics program equips students in Years 9–12 with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed and purposeful decisions about their future pathways. Through structured careers education, personalised mentoring, university preparation workshops, work readiness programs and individual careers support, students are encouraged to explore their strengths, interests, values and aspirations while developing a strong understanding of the opportunities available beyond school.
The program is designed to help students connect their academic learning with real-world experiences and future career goals. Through study skills workshops, examination preparation sessions, university application guidance and access to career development resources, students are supported to take ownership of their learning and build confidence, resilience and independence — essential qualities for success in tertiary study, training and employment.
A key strength of the program is the wide range of practical learning opportunities available to students. Excursions, university visits, industry events, guest presentations and work experience placements provide valuable insight into a variety of career pathways and the evolving world of work. Students have participated in placements with hospitals, technology companies, engineering firms and other organisations, gaining practical experience and industry knowledge that helps inform future decisions.
The College also values strong partnerships between students, families, universities, training providers and industry. Parents are supported through information evenings, newsletters and direct communication with the Careers Advisor, while relationships with universities, TAFE providers and local businesses create additional opportunities and support networks for students as they transition beyond school.
By combining academic support, career exploration and practical experiences, Mount Annan Christian College empowers students to pursue university, training, apprenticeships and employment pathways with clarity, purpose and confidence.
