MAINTENANCE / BUILDING WORKER

Mount Annan Christian College offers all staff the opportunity to further develop in their role and work in a school that has grown significantly to be among the very best. 

We are currently seeking a new member to join our maintenance team who has previous experience in the maintenance industry. It requires a mature person with initiative and experience with the ability to prioritise their own workload, as well as contributing to a high performing team. 

The Maintenance worker is responsible to ensure that the College’s internal building projects are completed and to work as part of the maintenance team. 

Overall, the role will be responsible as part of a team for the following areas:

  • Perform minor building, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as required
  • Oversee maintenance projects under the instruction of the Property Manager
  • Provide assistance in building projects as required by the Property Manager 
  • Transport Children to and from School and excursions in a roster, if required. 

The role will require a person with strong  time management skills and the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.

This will be a full-time position.

The successful candidates will:

  • Have a minimum 5 years building experience &/or previous experience as a handyman or maintenance worker
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an HC Drivers Licence. The College can provide appropriate training to obtain the licence for the suitable candidate.
  • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, demonstrating a willingness to learn, take initiative, have a positive attitude and be flexible. 
  • Have strong communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Be a committed Christian with a strong understanding of your faith and involvement in their local Church.
  • An ability to assent to the College Statement of Faith.
  • A Working with Children Check is required.

Previous experience working in a school would be highly regarded.

Due to the growth of the College, we are seeking to appoint an innovative, energetic and collaborative professional to teach within the Technologies (TAS) Faculty. Suitably qualified professionals who have enthusiasm for and/or experience in teaching Stage 4 to 6 Technologies, including the ability to teach the HSC Design & Technology and/or ITM course, are invited to apply for the position. The ideal applicant will have a dynamic proactive approach to teaching, immersion into College life, enthusiasm for teaching young people, with experience in the subject area to the HSC level.

Primary PE/Sport Specialist

2023 – Permanent Full Time Position

Due to continued growth at Mount Annan Christian College, we are seeking qualified, passionate, engaging, innovative and dynamic teacher to fill the role of Physical Education and Sports Specialist Position in our Primary School

The Role:

  • Permanent Full Time PE/Sport Specialist working predominantly in Years 3-6. This position has an RFF teaching allocation for PE across Years 3-6 as well as allocated time for coordinating our Primary Sport Program.

Salary and conditions in accordance with the AIS Hybrid 2021 Multi Enterprise Agreement.           

Skills and Attributes:

The successful candidate will be an energetic educator who is motivated by thinking differently about teaching and learning and who is driven by the creation of engaging and dynamic learning experiences for our students. Candidates must:

  • Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience
  • Demonstrate a passion for both teaching and pursuing innovative thinking through differentiated and individualised PE lessons across Stages 2 and 3
  • Plan and implement programs for both Physical Education and Sport
  • Lead the schools Primary representative sport program and coordinate our involvement in IPSSO (Independent Primary Schools Sports Organisation) and CSSA (Christian Schools Sports Association) events.
  • Together with the Secondary Sport Coordinator, support all school sporting carnivals and other primary years sporting events
  • Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills
  • Participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including student wellbeing initiatives, school camps and excursions
  • Have a suitable Primary Education or Secondary PDHPE Degree and be registered as a Teacher with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Evidence of these criteria should be included in your application.
  • Be a committed Christian with a strong understanding of their faith.
  • Have an ability to assent to the School’s Statement of Faith.

Café Manager

We are currently seeking a full-time Café Manager to join our Operations Team. This role will suit a proactive, self-directed and motivated individual who thrives in positive and dynamic environment with a focus on excellence in customer service and support. 

The successful applicant will have experience in Café Management and the associated administration and provide service at a high standard. The applicant will manage the day-to-day operations of the café, from ordering right through to direct customer service. The Manager will also coordinate catering services for the College and will manage the presentation of areas across the Staff Administration Building.

Important features are to be able to work as part of a team and also be capable of working alone when required. All applicants should have sound knowledge of WHS and food safety practices, a first aid certificate and will be required to adhere to school policies.

The role will work full-time during school hours and will be stand down (not work) during term breaks. 

Start date for the role is 4 October 2022 and will work towards establishing the café for its opening date in late-October 2022. 

The successful candidates will:

  • Be enthusiastic and hardworking, demonstrating a willingness to learn, take initiative, have a positive attitude and be flexible.
  • Maintain records of income and expense of the café.
  • Ability to interact with students and teachers. 
  • Have strong communication skills and some basic computer literacy.
  • Be a committed Christian with a strong understanding of your faith and involvement in their local Church.
  • An ability to assent to the College’s Statement of Faith.

A Working with Children Check is required.
