Secondary Teachers’ Aide (7-12) ǀ Full Time Permanent

Commencing Term 1 2022

Due to the growth of the College, we are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Teachers’ Aide to assist teaching staff in our Secondary school. Suitably qualified professionals who have enthusiasm for and/or experience in working with students with Diverse Learning Needs are invited to apply for the position. More specifically, it will be advantageous if the successful candidate has experience with assessments and intervention programs such as YARC and MultiLit. Knowledge of the NCCD, the multi-tiered system of support and the universal design for learning is also beneficial. The ideal applicant will have a dynamic proactive approach to teaching, immersion into College life and enthusiasm for supporting young people from Year 7-12.

The successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Provide input into programs to meet the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of the children
  • Provide rich, stimulating, age appropriate experiences that promote, encourage and foster a sense of curiosity, learning and independence
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of resources to provide learning experiences
  • Implement appropriate positive guidance strategies and procedures, in consultation with the Learning Support Coordinator & classroom teachers
  • Participate in and contribute to the development, evaluation and reflection of the programme, including documentation in journals, day books and projects in line with the Teachers Program
  • Collaborate with teachers to adjust classroom programs and develop a team teaching model in classes in order to meet the learning needs of these students
  • Provide resources and information for teachers with students with special needs in their classes
  • Contribute to the NCCD process, particularly around moderation and collection of evidence
  • Exhibit well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage with students, parents and staff
  • Support and enable students to achieve their best potential
  • Demonstrate exemplary organisational and communication skills
  • Present appropriate tertiary qualifications, including Certificate III in Education Support

Library Assistant Traineeship

We are currently seeking a full-time Library Assistant Trainee to join our Library Team. This job will suit a proactive, self-directed and motivated individual who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a focus on excellence in customer service and support.

This entry-level opportunity is suited to someone who is highly-motivated, technologically minded and is keen to pursue a career in the education sector. It is a full time, twenty-four-month placement that will provide formal on the job training

The successful candidate will complete a Certificate IV in Library Information Services over a twenty-four-month period and will be allocated a dedicated Skillset Consultant who will support you throughout your Traineeship.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Year 12 HSC or equivalent
  • Genuine interest in books and reading.
  • Basic knowledge of PC components and operations.
  • Basic knowledge of MS office software.
  • Knowledge of email and other internet applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills and experience managing difficult situations.

School Agriculture Aide (Farmhand) – Traineeship Cert IV

Beginning in 2022, we are currently seeking a full-time School Agriculture Aide to join our Agricultural Team. This job will suit a proactive, self-directed and motivated individual who thrives in a positive and dynamic environment with a focus on excellence in customer service and agricultural support. 

The successful applicant will be assisting in the development and maintenance of the Agriculture learning spaces, gardening, planting, pruning, and care and supervision of livestock as well as providing repairs and maintenance of fencing, tools, equipment etc. Experience in handling small numbers of cattle, sheep, chickens, and alpacas, including leading and feeding will be an important part of the role. Some of this may occur outside of College hours. 

We are looking for an individual who enjoys working alongside students to assist in guiding their learning. This will include interaction with teachers and students to provide an interactive experience between students and the College’s animals. 

Important features are to be able to work as part of a team, however, also be capable of working alone when required. All applicants should have sound knowledge of WHS practices and will be required to adhere to school policies.

This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week in total, as the Agriculture Aide. 

The successful candidate will complete a Certificate IV in Agriculture over a twenty-four-month period and will be allocated a dedicated Skillset Consultant who will support you throughout your Traineeship.

The successful candidates will:

  • Ability to interact with students and teachers.

Student Services/ Co-Curricular Support

We are currently seeking a new member of our Student Services team who specialises in Co-Curricular Support.  It requires a mature person with initiative and experience with exceptional organization and planning skills. The successful applicant will have the ability to prioritise own workload, as well as contributing to a high performing team environment.

The Student Services – Co-Curricular Support is responsible to the Office Manager to ensure that the College’s co-curricular activities operate smoothly and assist in enhancing the experience for students and parents. The role will implement the strategy outlined by the Head of Operations and overseen by the Office Manager. The primary goal is good external customer service for parents and carers and good internal customer service for students and teachers.

Overall, the role will be responsible for and will oversee the following areas:

  • Participate in the delivery of customer service activities
  • Music/Tutoring Administration
  • Sports Program Administration (including Sports Uniform Management)
  • Smooth organisation of Special College Events (including Assemblies)
  • Bus/Coach Bookings for Excursions
  • Camp/Excursion Administration
  • Active Member of the Administration Team

The role will require a person with highly developed time management skills and the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.

This will be a full time position during school term and stand down during school holidays.

Maintenance/ Building Worker

Mount Annan Christian College (MACC) is a co-educational Prep to Year 12 Christian College in the Macarthur region. MACC is highly valued for its nurturing, caring community, and is recognised as a leader in the implementation of innovation in education, with a focus on developing the potential within each child and positioning them for lives of purpose.

We are currently seeking a new member to join our maintenance team who has previous experience in the carpentry/ building industry. It requires a mature person with initiative and experience with exceptional organization and planning skills. The successful applicant will have the ability to prioritise own workload, as well as contributing to a high performing team environment. Bus driving is also a requirement of the position.

The Maintenance worker is responsible to the Property Manager to ensure that the College’s internal building projects are completed and to work as part of the maintenance team. The role will implement the strategy outlined by the Head of Operations and overseen by the Property Manager. 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferably experience in maintenance in schools but not essential.
  • Perform minor building, plumbing electrical and painting repairs as required
  • Oversee maintenance projects under the instruction of the Head of Operations
  • Provide assistance in Major Building Projects as required by the Property Manager 
  • Transport Children to and from School and excursions in a rotating roster. 
  • Knowledge of handling and storage of chemicals.
  • LR Drivers licence is essential. MACC can provide appropriate training to obtain the license.
  • A current First Aid Certificate is required and should be included in your application.

The successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Assisting Science Teachers in the day to day preparation of Science Lessons
  • Assist Technologies teachers in the day to day preparation of Food Tech lessons
  • Assist the Head of Science Faculty to manage the science laboratories and relevant chemicals and equipment
  • Source and order new equipment and replenish chemicals under the instruction of the Head of Science Faculty
  • Source and order new ingredients under instruction of the Head of Technologies Faculty or relevant teacher

  • Understand the importance of their role and how it relates to the learning experience of all students

Technologies (TAS) Coordinator (7-12) ǀ Full Time Permanent

The College is seeking to appoint an energetic and collaborative professional to lead the small team within the Technologies (TAS) Faculty into its next phase of development, in relation to curriculum initiatives, and the learning and teaching process. Suitably qualified professionals who have the proven capacity to motivate and mentor others or experience leading a Faculty, are invited to apply. Experience in teaching Stage 4 to 6 Technologies, including the ability to teach the HSC Design & Technology, Food Technology and/or ITM course, are advantageous. More specifically, it will be advantageous if the successful candidate has experience to take part in the further development of the College’s highly reputable STEM_ed program. The ideal applicant will have a dynamic proactive approach to teaching, immersion into College life, enthusiasm for teaching young people, with experience in the subject area to the HSC level. 

This position reports directly to the Head of Secondary and commences at the start of Term 1, 2022.

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Lead and manage the Technologies Faculty including, modelling best practice in teaching, implementation and design of curriculum (Years 7-12) that meets the needs of our students and NESA, monitoring achievement of students and effectiveness of teachers, dealing with all operational, budgeting and record keeping requirements and ensuring fair and effective assessment procedures.
  • Provide active leadership for all those involved in teaching or supporting the Technologies This will include mentoring, collaborating and the sharing of information so that staff motivation is at an optimum level to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of learning and teaching.
  • Create effective teams by inspiring and motivating students and staff. Be a positive role model for other staff and students by taking responsibility for the continuous improvement of the team within the context of the College.
  • Provide active leadership in contemporary learning practices that enhance student achievement and performance across all Technologies courses, including STEM_ed. Capacity to lead the ongoing development of differentiated pedagogy, authentic learning and assessment which is informed by evidenced-based approaches and the skilled use of data.
  • Qualification in Education and registration with the NSW Institute of Teachers

More specifically, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Exhibit successful teaching experience and teach Stage 4 to 6 Technologies, including the ability to teach the HSC Design & Technology, Food Technology and/or ITM course
  • Develop, refine and teach STEM_ed initiatives within the curriculum, and collaborate with the Maths and Science Coordinators.
  • Work collaborate within a team to lead in the further development of the Technologies Faculty
  • Contribute to an innovative educational direction that exists within the College
  • Support and enable staff members to achieve their best potential
  • Drive academic improvement and results in all areas leading up to the HSC
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and assessment
