The positions:

Temporary Full Time Primary Teachers (12 month contract), with potential to extend beyond this period due to the growth at our College.

The successful candidates will:

MUSIC TUTOR – EXPERIENCED PIANO /KEYBOARD TEACHER

Term 1 2021 start

The College is seeking to appoint a Music Tutor who has the vision and passion to help grow  and develop the Performing Arts at MACC  and who are willing to actively support the co-curricular program and ethos of the College.

Formal Music qualifications and experience are essential.  Successful candidates should be enthusiastic and  self-motivated and looking for a long-term commitment 

Experienced Piano /Keyboard Teacher and Accompanist (Group and Private Lessons, with strong potential for growth)

More specifically, the successful candidate will have:

  • A passionate and fun approach to introducing young beginners  to the world of music
  • Previous experience in lesson preparation for Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 students
  • Strong administration skills
  • Ability to prepare students for exams/concerts/competitions
  • Relate well to children, parents and College staff
  • Be honest, responsible, punctual, encouraging and patient
  • Have knowledge of AMEB syllabus, ‘Piano for Leisure Course’ and popular music.
  • Knowledge of Kodaly Pedagogy is desirable

A current WWCC approval number is required.

School Nurse

We are currently seeking a part-time School Nurse to join our Student Services Team. This job will suit a proactive, self-directed and motivated individual who thrives in positive and dynamic environment with a focus on excellence in customer service and student support.

The successful applicant will have experience in schools, working with young primary aged children, a kind and empathetic nature, be collegial and able to take direction. The successful applicant will also be prepared to undertake some administrative tasks as directed by the Student Services Manager.

The role will work in alignment with school hours and school weeks (during term time from 8.30am to 3.15pm each school day). The role is planned to begin on Wednesday 27 January 2021.

While a registered nurse qualification is not required, it is desirable. A Senior First Aid Certificate is required.

Important features are to be able to work as part of a team, however, also be capable of working alone when required. All applicants should have sound knowledge of WHS practices, basic medical support and will be required to adhere to school policies.

Operations Administrator

We are currently seeking a full-time Operations Administrator to join our Operations Team. This job will suit a proactive, self-directed and motivated individual who thrives in positive and dynamic environment with a focus on excellence in customer service and student support.

The successful applicant will have experience in high-level administration and provide support at a high level. The applicant will provide personal assistant duties to the Head of Operations, administrative support to the Maintenance Team and will participate in the delivery of major projects for the College. The person will need to be organised and be able to organise others.

The role will also assist the Head of Operations in providing support in human resource matters and compliance matters. The role will also draft agendas, minutes, letters, policies and other correspondence. Proficient skills in writing and communication is essential.

The role will work full time and have 7 weeks annual leave each year in alignment with school holidays.

Technologies (TAS) Coordinator (7-12) ǀ Full Time Permanent

Commencing Term 1 2021

Mount Annan Christian College offers teachers and leaders the opportunity to further develop as professionals and work in a school that has grown to be among the very best. The College has achieved a well-deserved reputation for not only graduating great students but developing great teachers and educational leaders.

The College is seeking to appoint an energetic and collaborative professional to lead the small team within the Technologies (TAS) Faculty into its next phase of development, in relation to curriculum initiatives, and the learning and teaching process. Suitably qualified professionals who have the proven capacity to motivate and mentor others or experience leading a Faculty, are invited to apply. Experience in teaching Stage 4 to 6 Technologies, including the ability to teach the HSC Design & Technology, Food Technology and/or ITM course, are advantageous. More specifically, it will be advantageous if the successful candidate has experience to take part in the further development of the College’s highly reputable STEM_ed program. The ideal applicant will have a dynamic proactive approach to teaching, immersion into College life, enthusiasm for teaching young people, with experience in the subject area to the HSC level. 

This position reports directly to the Head of Secondary and commences at the start of Term 1, 2021.

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Lead and manage the Technologies Faculty including, modelling best practice in teaching, implementation and design of curriculum (Years 7-12) that meets the needs of our students and NESA, monitoring achievement of students and effectiveness of teachers, dealing with all operational, budgeting and record keeping requirements and ensuring fair and effective assessment procedures.
  • Provide active leadership for all those involved in teaching or supporting the Technologies This will include mentoring, collaborating and the sharing of information so that staff motivation is at an optimum level to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of learning and teaching.
  • Create effective teams by inspiring and motivating students and staff. Be a positive role model for other staff and students by taking responsibility for the continuous improvement of the team within the context of the College.
  • Provide active leadership in contemporary learning practices that enhance student achievement and performance across all Technologies courses, including STEM_ed. Capacity to lead the ongoing development of differentiated pedagogy, authentic learning and assessment which is informed by evidenced-based approaches and the skilled use of data.
  • Qualification in Education and registration with the NSW Institute of Teachers

 

More specifically, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Exhibit successful teaching experience and teach Stage 4 to 6 Technologies, including the ability to teach the HSC Design & Technology, Food Technology and/or ITM course
  • Develop, refine and teach STEM_ed initiatives within the curriculum, and collaborate with the Maths and Science Coordinators.
  • Work collaborate within a team to lead in the further development of the Technologies Faculty
  • Contribute to an innovative educational direction that exists within the College
  • Support and enable staff members to achieve their best potential
  • Drive academic improvement and results in all areas leading up to the HSC
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and assessment
  • Initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Demonstrate well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage with students, parents and staff

NESA accreditation and a current WWCC approval number is required.
